For this breakfast setting we were inspired by Mexican textiles.
It was hosted by Mariangeles Reygadas, fashion editor of L'Officiel Mexico, and director of Fundación León VIII, a non profit organization that supports Mexican women from Chiapas and their beautiful work.
The event was held to launch their collaboration with Kipling Mexico, whose bags were hand embroidered by the artisans, and will be sold in stores around the country. The profits will all go to Fundación León VIII.
We chose to blend in with the venue, Cancino San Miguel in Mexico City. Which was set amongst different plants. So instead of making flower arrangements, we used typical brown clay and mustard yellow pots with ferns, Aloe Vera and Cuna de Moisés (Spathiphyllum wallisii).
A variety of cacti and succulents were placed at each plate with the names of the guests, which they could take home to plant afterwards.
Find their amazing collection at Kipling stores and online soon. The table runners and placemats, which are actually cushion covers, are also available on their webpage www.fundacionleontrece.org
